What is the design process?

The first step is to contact us. We'll find out about you, what type of project you're interested in, and what you want to accomplish with it. When you're ready to begin, we'll send you an official contract, so you'll know up front, what you're paying and what you're getting for your money. Once we've received your signed contract along with a 50% deposit, it's time to begin! We will collect all of the information that we need for the project, and research the competition to see what they're doing. Next, we develop a concept and create a design to present to you. We'll discuss and make the necessary changes and your project is finished! It's easy!

What are some ways I can keep my costs down?

Anything that saves us time will keep your costs down. Having the final version of any included written information, such as descriptions for your website or text for your brochure, will save time making complicated revisions. Making printing or web hosting decisions in the beginning will assure that the designs are meeting the specifications of the printer or web hosting company.

What services do you provide?

Fresh Vision Design can assist you in almost any printed design or web design project. Logos, brochures, letterhead, envelopes, business cards, magazine ads, newspaper ads, posters, flyers, catalogs, booklets, postcards, trade show signs, online brochures, website design and re-design, navigation systems, website templates, banner ads, animations, custom web graphics and more. What is an online brochure and how can it save me money?

An online brochure is alot like a paper brochure, which explains what your business is about. It can save you money, because it is usually a general description of your business that will not require many changes in the future, which keeps your web maintenace fees at a minimum. An online brochure directs customers to contact you by e-mail or phone, instead of purchasing online, which requires expensive design features, forms, shopping carts, and many changes in your site, when prices or inventory changes. You can also use a more complex site design, because it will not require as much maintenance. It's a good way to get started on the web, if you're not sure how much you want to invest in your company's website.

Once the site is complete can I make changes to it myself?

Yes, if you are going to want to make changes to your website on your own, we will need to know this in the beginning of the process, because it could effect the way your site is designed. To be able to make your own website updates, the best method is to go with a template design, which gives you a professional looking website with simple text that you can alter yourself.

In order to make changes to your own website, you will need your own web publishing software and know how to use it. We do not offer support on how to design your own website.

You will also need software to transfer your files from your computer to your web server.

What type of information will you need from me?

All content of a project is the responsibility of the client and must be supplied at the start of the project. Your logo or any images you want to use will need to be provided in photo-ready or electronic format. See "what type of files can I send..." for more information. We also have stock photography available, if you require stock photography that we do not have, there will be an additional charge.

What software does Fresh Vision Design use?

Adobe Pagemaker, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Macromedia Freehand, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Fireworks.

Can Fresh Vision Design handle the printing of my project?

Fresh Vision Design works closely with printers, to ensure your project is finished as intended. If you prefer to work with your own printers, Fresh Vision Design will provide you with the necessary files to proceed with printing on your own.

If we are handling the printing of your project, we will discuss printing needs at the beginning of the project and provide approximate costs. This allows us to keep your cost down, because there are no time delays due to unknown printer costs.

Does Fresh Vision Design provide web hosting?

Fresh Vision Design is not a web hosting company, but we provide services to help you find the right web hosting service for your needs. If you already have a web hosting company that you are working with, Fresh Vision Design will provide you with the files to upload to your current web hosting server. Fresh Vision Design can also assist you in obtaining a unique domain name for your website, or assist you in establishing a website for domain names, you may already own.

Can Fresh Vision Design provide images for my project?

Fresh Vision Design can create original images for your project, or can use stock photography or line art. If special stock photography or line art is required, additional fees will be required for the purchase of these images. Fresh Vision Design can take your existing photographs, logos, or other images and incorporate them into the design for your project.

What type of files can I send for logos and images?

We can accept files in .tiff, .eps, and .jpg forms. For print design, images need to be at least 300 dpi. For web design, images need to be at least 72 dpi. Feature Design Studios can take your photographs or logo, and transfer it into a digital form for printing or web design.

Will I get to see a proof of my project?

If Fresh Vision Design is handling the printing of your project, you will have a choice to see a proof of the final project before it is printed. This proof can either be in the form of an adobe .pdf file (see below) or a matchprint, which is a paper color proof that will show you what the colors and layout will look like, before the entire run is printed. There is no charge for us to send a .pdf file. A matchprint will be charged according to the project. Please note that no computer monitors display images in the same way, so if a matchprint is not made, the colors may vary from the images you see on your screen.

What is a .pdf file?

.pdf stands for portable document format, and it is a type of file that can be read on any computer, whatever program it was created in, without changing the look of the document. Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view these files. Click here for a free download. If you do not have the Adobe Acrobat Reader program, it is a very valuable download, whether you will be receiving a .pdf proof from us or not. I would highly recommend that you download this program to make your internet experience more valuable and enjoyable. The color in a .pdf file may vary on different computers, so the final print may not be exactly the same as the .pdf appears.
